Interested in coming for a retreat? We welcome activists, organizers, cultural workers, and other change agents for a solo retreat in our rustic cabin, or in a tent. Our goal is to support folks combating burn out with land time, with spacious natural opportunities and home cooked meals. We particularly want to welcome those who have not had access to land previously, and those most impacted by systemic injustice.
You might be wondering, What would I do on a retreat in the woods by myself? In our current moment, there aren't a lot of ways for us to work outside of the sense of urgency and crisis that is our struggle for survival against powerful forces of injustice. For folks doing this work head on, it can feel impossible to stop, even selfish and destructive to the work they are doing. Our strength and willingness to respond to the great need of our world is not inexhaustible. This belief in urgency unto burnout and self harm is one of the key tools of the system to keep folks powerless, exhausted, and isolated. Burn out can hit fast, or slowly creep up, but when it comes, it deserves to be attended to.
We believe, and have experienced, the power of time and space to let through the work that needs to happen to bring us back into our power, our purpose. And more than that, taking space and time up close and in nature offers some deep support that humans just can't do for each other. Being on land, no matter the season, brings with it lessons, gifts, and challenges that teach, heal, and open us to power and connection, and can give us strength for our work in the world.

We can support structured time on land working with the earth on the farm, or in the woods, or time in contemplation, or checking in with someone in the community, or getting coaching, or getting a massage, or cooking, or making art, or or... .
